I support a Fracking Free Ireland. If elected, I will work to ensure that fracking is not permitted in my area (as I did last year when I voted against fracking as part of Clare County Council)

Why Vote for James Breen?

1. EXPERIENCE:

Having spent 5 years in Dail Eireann and over 25 years in local office, James has numerous contacts in the various Government Departments through out the country and can cut through red tape to resolve issues for his constituents.

James is a man who will listen to you and a man who can get things done!

2. A PROVEN TRACK RECORD:

Since his re election to Clare County Council in June 2009, James has put 87 motions before Ennis West Area Meetings and 60 motions before the full County Council. This record includes the following sucesses:

The Doora Pedestrian Safety Bridge Campaign:

James campaigned for 7 years to have a footbridge built over the railway line on the Doora Road, to increase pedestrian safety and access to area. Though his tireless lobbying the footbridge has been finally completed and has been in use for several months. People now enjoy walking safely into Ennis from the Doora Road and environs.

Safety Upgrades for the N85:

James lobbied for much needed safety upgrades to a stretch of the N85 in Kilnamona where numerous accidents have occurred over the last 12 months. He is delighted to see work progressing in that area and will be monitoring the situation to ensure the work is completed to bring this busy road up to acceptable safety standards.

3. HE STANDS FOR PEOPLE NOT POLITICS:

As a founder member of the Ennis General Hospital Action Committee with the late PJ Bourke and Paedar McNamara, James has campaigned ceaselessly to maintain and upgrade its facilities. Also, during his time in Dail Eireann he submitted several motions before the Government on the issues affecting the hospital.

Additionally, he opposed the closing of the Agricultural Offices in Ennis and voted against the sale of the lucrative Heathrow Airport slots to protect jobs at Shannon Airport.

If re-elected to Clare County Council on May 23rd, 2014, James promises to use all his energies to represent you fairly and impartially on all matters.
